Farmy announced raising CHF 10 million from Triodos Organic Growth Fund

Farmy, a Zurich, Switzerland-based startup operating a digital marketplace for regionally-produced organic products, announced the completion of a CHF 10M ($11M) capital investment round.

The money was provided by a range of investors including Triodos Organic Growth Fund and angel investor Thomas Harttung. As part of the investment, Isabelle Laurencin, Investment Manager from Triodos Organic Growth Fund, will be apointed as a board member on the Board of Directors of Farmy.

Proceeds will be used to further expand the company's delivery capacities (add more owned e-vehicles to its fleet and more delivery areas and fulfillment capacities) as well as strengthen its second pillar as a technology service provider for food producers or labels such as Bio Suisse.

Farmy, founded in 2014 and led by CEO Roman Hartmann, built an online market for organic  products sourced directly from the producer. The company has a range of 12,500 mainly organic hand-picked products from more than 1,000 local producers, generating a yearly turnover of 11.5 million francs.

Farmy is one of the many online grocery startups from Europe funded by venture money.
