Fenix Begravning raises SEK 30 million in a round led by Brightly Ventures.

Fenix Begravning, a Stockholm, Sweden-based company providing funeral services, raised SEK 30 million ($3.5M) in equity financing.

The money was raised from local investors from Sweden, led by Brightly Ventures, joined by a group of existing investors including John Wattin and Tomas Ekman.

Proceeds will be used to scale up its operations in the UK, fuelled by strong growth both in Sweden and UK.

Fenix ​​Funeral, founded in 2014 by CEO Charlotte Runius, Mikael Novak and Johannes Ekblad, provides funeral services for the Swedish market. The company offers caring support for funeral planning, probate and will services made easy and affordable online.
