Frontity, a Madrid, Spain-based software development startup, announced the completion of a €1 million investment round.

The funding was provided by a range of angel investors led by the Spanish venture company K Fund, already shareholder in the company, and by Automattic.

Frontity, founded in 2015 by CE Pablo Postigo and Luis Herranz, was initially started as a developer of a plugin to convert WordPress blogs into native mobile applications. Since then, the company pivoted and has been working on an open source framework that makes it easy for developers to create WordPress websites with React, a JavaScript library for developing user interfaces. The company claims that today it is the only React-based framework designed exclusively for this CMS, which uses 35.8% of the world's web pages.

Prior to this round, Frontity raised €400k in 2018.
