Hopp raised $2.8 million from Brunnur Ventures.

Hopp, a Reykjavík, Iceland-based electric scooter rental company, announced the completion of a $2.8 million seed funding round.

The money was raised locally from Iceland from investors led by Brunnur Ventures and will be used as the company aims to internationalize.

Hopp, founded in 2019 by CEO Eyþór Máni Steinarsson, Ægir Þorsteinssons Ragnar Þór Valgeirsson (rthor), developed a software solution that is dedicated to provide small business owners around the world the opportunity to launch and locally operate their own e-scooter franchise business. The company initially launched in Iceland and expanded to Spain in 2020 - it says it currently has deployed just over 2300 scooters, have 170,000 users and handle as well as their own operation in Iceland.
