Hoxton Farms secured £2.7M in a seed round led by Founders Fund
Hoxton Farms, a London, UK-based startup producing food fats in an alternative and cheaper way, announced that it secured a £2.7M ($3.7M) capital funding in a seed round.
The money was raised from investors led by the American VC Founders Fund and included contributions from Backed VC, Presight Capital, CPT Capital, and Sustainable Food Ventures.
Hoxton Farms, founded in 2020 by Ed Steele and Max Jamilly, is a producer of animal-free fat, made out of a combination between cell biology and mathematical modeling. The end product is a purified animal fat in bioreactors, providing meat and other industries such as bakery, confectionery and cosmetics with cruelty-free cultivated fat.
