imove announced a €19M Series A.
imove, a Bergen, Norway-based company providing a subscription service for cars and scooters, announced the completion of a €19M Series A investment transaction.
The deal includes a €6M secondary transaction and €13M ($15.4M) capital raised from investors including the largest pan-European online car market AutoScout24, venture capital company from Norway Norselab, and the Norwegian state climate investment company Nysnø. Existing owner Hedin Automotive also joined the capital round.
Proceeds will be used to grow imove’s presence in the Nordics and expand the platform globally. Scaling car subscriptions requires wide distribution, sourcing of vehicle fleets, financing, ecosystem partnerships, technology and a team prepared to go the extra mile.
The deal includes a strategic partnership with AutoScout24, which will use its pan-European marketplaces as a distribution channel for imove’s electric vehicle subscription service making the “Nordic EV experience” available for users in some of the largest European automotive markets.
Imove, founded in 2018 by CEO Hans Kristian Aas and Gunnar Birkenfeldt, operates a mobile application via which consumer can access a car subscription, micro-mobility and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) services.
The company built a fleet of more than a thousand electric vehicles in its own car subscription service that was launched in Norway in 2018, and in Sweden earlier in 2021. The imove service lets the end-user subscribe to an electric car for an all-inclusive monthly fee, including unique features like access to a weekend car, free mileage, home delivery, seasonal tire change at the customer’s home amongst others.
imove previously raised $2.2 million in 2020 and and $1.1 million in 2019.
