Intelligent Marking, a Hjørring, Denmark-based creator of autonomous robot for GPS line marking of sports facilities, announced securing a capital investment round.

The financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The funding will be used to invest massively through a US subsidiary, in order to support more business development, already backed by deals with customers such as NFL clubs New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Intelligent Marking, founded by co-CEOs Anders Ulrik Sørensen and Andreas Ydesen as a high school project in 2014, is developed a technical solution to automating the painting of sports facilities worldwide.

The patented Intelligent One can mark lines on all types of sports fields (i.e. soccer, football, lacrosse) on natural grass or artificial turf, managed through a mobile app, eliminating the need for an operator while increasing precision and sustainability. Intelligent One has 12 employees in Denmark and 16 employees in the United States.

This is the second investment round announced by the company - in March 2019, Intelligent Marking added Johnny Laursen, CEO of Benjamin Capital, as shareholder, joining Jacob Risgaard, Mikkel Jacobsen, and Henrik Jørgensen.
