Johannas Stadsodlingar in a SEK 5 million funding rond.

Johannas Stadsodlingar, a Stockholm, Sweden-based producer of veteables in indoor aquaponic facilities, announced closing a SEK 5 million ($600k) funding round.

The money was raised from local Swedish investors, including MatHem’s founders the Kull family, logistics expert and business angel Lars-Göran Ahlberger, and Propel Capital, Sting’s investment vehicle.

Johannas Stadsodlingar, founded in 2018 by CEO Thomas Bjelkeman-Pettersson, developed a food production system for fish and vegetables. They are using an indoor circular growing systems based on aquaponics that allows them to produce local food 365 days a year, minimising transport, water use and other environmental impact,
