&ever, founded in 2015 and led by CEO Henner Schwarz, is a vertical farm company headquartered in Germany with operations in the Middle East, Asia and Europe. The company was launched in order to grow select baby leaf produce and herbs including spinach, kale, endive, arugula, watercress, cilantro and bok choy, and has developed a proprietary approach for seeding, germination, propagation, harvesting, and delivery of fresh baby leaf products that optimize the entire production cycle through unique growing methods and technologies.
Kalera, founded in 2010 as Eco Convergence by CEO Cristian Toma, is best known for introducing onsite hydroponic farming to the hospitality industry via the HyCube vertical farming facility, which launched in 2018 at the Orlando World Center Marriott resort. The facility, which is housed next door to the resort’s main kitchen, provides greens for the hotel’s nine dining establishments. The company, focused mainly on the Southeast US, is operated from its HQ based in Orlando and is publicly listed on Euronext in Oslo, Norway.
