Mikkeller gets private equity investment from US investor Orkila Capital

Mikkeller, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based beer producer and hsopitality operator, announced that it entered into a private equity agreement, following a minority investment by speciality US investor Orkila Capital.

The financial details of the deal remained undisclosed. Orkila Capital bought shares of Bjergsø Holding ApS, the sole owner of the breweries and the Mikkeller pub business. Following the deal, Jesse Michael Du Bey will join the company's board of directors, as well as Jacob Gram Alsing, who is production manager. Mikkel Borg Bjergsø has become the CEO.

Mikkeller was founded in 2006 by Mikkel Borg Bjergsø and Kristian Klarup Keller.
