Minuendo secured financing totalling NOK 40 million.

Minuendo, an Oslo, Norway-based manufacturer of an intelligent hearing protection that protects the user from noise, secured financing totalling NOK 40 million ($4.5 million).

The money comes in a grant and equity combination - a grant of NOK 10 million provided by EIC and NOK 30 million in equity.

Minuendo, founded in 2018 as a spinoff from Sintef in 2018 by CEO Stian Aldrin, Knut Håkon Breivik and Olav Kvaløy, produces ear protectors designed as small and light earplugs with technology that adapts to the noise of the surroundings. The product has lifelike reproduction of sound and can alert the user if there is a danger of hearing damage.

Minuendo has seven employees and raised $1.6 million at the beginning of 2019. The company has previously received support from the Research Council's FORNY program, start-up loan and Seal of Excellence from Innovation Norway.
