NA-KD secures $45M from FJ Labs, Partech, eEquity and Northzone, as it has become one of Europe's fastest growing companies.
NA-KD, a Gothenburg, Sweden-based online fashion retailer, announced raising $45M in series B investment round funding.
Backers include new and existing investors, led by Partech, with the participation of FJ Labs, Northzone, eEquity, and Swedish angel investors Jonas Norlander and Filip Engelbert.
The money constitutes capital investment in the company as well as secondary share transaction, as some early shareholders partially sold some of their equity positions.
NA-KD, founded in 2015 by serial entrepreneur Jarno Vanhatapio, built a consumer brand platform acting as a global online direct-to-consumer (DTC) channel for women. The company sells stylish yet affordable clothes, mainly marketed through social influencers - the company has around 1.8 million followers in social media.
The website is popular among the online fashion brands on Instagram mainly in Sweden and Germany, having built a highly scalable fashion collaboration platform with star influencers.
According to the company, NA-KD had a revenue run-rate close to $75M after the second full year of being operational. In 2016, it had in the Swedish accounting records SEK 136M ($17M) in sales, with a loss of SEK 57M ($7.1M).
The company is well funded, having raised more than $20M since its founding - early investors include Jonas Mårtensson, Magnus Emilson, Mikael Söderlindh, Leif Jägerbrand and Lena Apler.
