Natural Cycles closes $30M in series B funding, in a round including EQT, E-ventures and Bonnier.
Natural Cycles, a Stockholm, Sweden-based company providing an application service that acts as a certified contraceptive in the EU, announced closing a $30M Series B investment round.
The investment will aid clinical research, product development, recruitment from the world of medicine and science, and international expansion.
Natural Cycles, founded in 2014 by Elina Berglund and Raoul Scherwitzl, developed a fertility tracker technology that helps to prevent pregnancies by empowering women with a deeper insight into their body. Unlike other Fertility Awareness based (FAB) methods (also called natural family planning or rhythm method), Natural Cycles uses an advanced and scientific algorithm to accurately predict when a woman is fertile. In the largest clinical study* of its kind, the app was recently shown to be 93% effective with typical use.
The service is used by over 500,000 women from over 161 countries.
Prior to this, Natural Cycles raised more than $7M in risk capital.
