ONiO, an Oslo, Norway-based fabless IoT company that brings self-powered, batteryless solutions to the market, announced the completion of a $2.3 million funding round.

The money was raised from MP Pensjon (TINE Pension Fund) and the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund, as part of its EIC Accelerator program.

The proceeds will be used to further accelerate the rollout of ONiO.zero - its proprietary general purpose wireless microcontroller capable of true batteryless operation.

ONiO, founded in 2016 as Cura8 by Runar Finanger and led by CEO Kjetil Meisal, is a fabless IoT company specialising in batteryless microcontrollers that run on ambient energy. The company developed the ONiO.zero, a tiny wireless microcontroller that is designed to replace the battery in all general purpose devices.
