Pabio raised a seed round of $2.2 million

Pabio, a Bern, Switzerland-based provider of rent-to-own furniture, offering individuals a personalised interior design with high-quality furniture rental service, announced closing a $2.2 million seed funding round.

The money was raised from investors led by Serpentine Ventures (Swiss Startup Group) and Session.VC, joined by European and American funds and angels, including Tomahawk.VC, Pioneer Fund, and DD Venture Capital.

Pabio, founded in 2020 by Carlo Badini and Anand Chowdhary, is a provider of rent-to-own furniture, offering individuals a personalised interior design with high-quality furniture rental service. Customers can request a personalized interior design proposal with photorealistic renders of what their fully furnished apartment will look like. They upload a floor plan and take some photos, and Pabio generates a 3D model of their apartment, furniture and all. If the customer likes it, they can subscribe to their furniture, delivered, installed and insured, for a monthly subscription fee.

Pabio has 100 customers, and is aiming to use to funding to make itself available in Germany. It is one the European startups that were part of Y Combinator in the summer of 2021 and was previously pre-seeded with roughly $1 million.
