Savana Médica secured $15 million in a round led by Cathay Innovation, with participation from the Spanish VC firm Seaya Ventures.

Savana Médica, a Madrid, Spain-based SAAS provider for the healthcare industry, announced that it completed a funding round of $15 million.

The money was raised from investors led by Cathay Innovation, with participation from the Spanish investment firm Seaya Ventures, which led the company’s previous round, and new investors like MACSF, a French insurance provider for doctors.

Savana, founded in 2014 by CEO Jorge Tello Guijarro and Ignacio Hernandez Medrano, helps hospitals to extract insights from doctor’s notes for the first time to optimise their operations and boost research and innovation in clinical practice. The company claims to have already processed 400 million electronic medical records in English, Spanish, German and French.

Prior to this round, Savana raised €3.8M in 2018. The company, which is basd in Madrid, said that it would be relocating to New York and is already working with the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies and more than 100 healthcare facilities.
