Semantha to raise €4.5 million in a round led by Earlybird Ventures.

Semantha, a Karlsruhe, Germany-based software developer of a software solution announced that it completed a €4.5 million ($5.5M) capital investment round.

The money was raised from investors from germany led by Earlybird Ventures, joined by local angel investors whose name was not disclosed.

Semantha, also known as thingsTHINKING, founded in 2017 as a spin-off from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) by Sven J. Körner, Mathias Landhäußer, Georg A. Müller and Abdelmalik El Guesaoui, developed a textual processing platform for applying multi-modal processing while working out-of-the-box without the much dreaded training usually required for AI applications.

The company makes money by selling their software as SAAS to customers including BASF, Hella, and Gothaer, and works with partners who use the platform’s 150+ REST/API web services to create their own solutions.
