Sojo, a London, UK-based startup building a mobile marketplace for clothing alteration designed to connect customers with local seamsters, announced completing a $2.4 million pre-seed funding round.

The money was raised from investors led by the Dutch VC Capital T, joined by Ascension, Mustard Seed MAZE, Vertex Albion Capital and 10x10 Angel Syndicate. Proceeds will be used for extending the company's service in a larger London area as well as across the UK.

Sojo, founded in 2021 by CEO Josephine Philips, developed a mobile app that helps consumers with clothing alterations and repairs. The service is available in London and connects customers to local seamster businesses via the app and bicycle delivery service so that they can get their clothes fixed or fitted with a few simple clicks. The company's model includes a B2B offering, as it did a partnership with fashion brand GANNI to offer free tailoring and repairs to all of its London-based customers with plans to expand the service nationwide following the initial pilot stage.

This is the company's second pre-seed round, as Sojo secured around $400k in 2021 from investors including Haatch and Atomico's angel program.

Total investments received (USD): 2.81M
