Stabelo, a Stockholm, Sweden-based mortgage company, announced getting into an investment agreement with the Swedish bank Nordax Bank.

The deal, which has the financial details undisclosed, was made for a 9% stake in the company and is part of a larger collaboration aiming to explore opportunities for product innovation in the mortgage market where both operate. After the investment in Stabelo, Nordax will also be represented on the company's Board of Directors.

Stabelo and Nordax today offer different types of innovative mortgage services and by combining two complementary business models, new opportunities will be opened to include more customer groups in the Swedish boom market.

Nordax, led by Jacob Lundblad, CEO, is a Nordic specialist bank that helps people make well-considered choices and offers services in private loans, mortgages, mortgage pensions and savings accounts. Nordax is owned by Nordic Capital and Sampo, which delisted it from the stock exchange in 2018.

Stabelo, founded in 2016 by CEO Hampus Broden and Wilhelm Moberg, is an independent mortgage institution that offers simple and affordable mortgages where responsible borrowing is rewarded and where institutional investors invest in a mortgage fund.

Stabelo's services are provided through Avanza, which also continues to be Stabelo's partner and second largest shareholder.
