Strossle, a Stockholm, Sweden-based media company, announced it was acquired by the Dutch from Azerion.

Financial details were not disclosed.

This acquisition is designed to further strengthen Azerion's position in the Nordics and Central and Eastern European countries (CEE). This development follows the acquisitions of Swedish programmatic advertising company Delta Projects and German gaming veteran WHOW Games over the past two weeks.

Strossle, founded as Sprinkle in 2013 and led by CEO Håkon Tillier, has developed technology for media that uses artificial intelligence to help publishers present the most relevant content for each user. The company works with publishers and advertisers as middleman providing technologies for content recommendations, native advertising, editorial traffic exchange and GDPR-safe marketing. It says it has partnerships with more than 350 publishers in eight European markets, and estimates it is part of the reading experience on 500,000,000 articles per month.

Strossle was backed by investors including Almi Invest, Spintop Ventures, Mattias Borg and Niclas Lilja, which invested more than $4 million.

Total investments received (USD): 4.07M
