Almi Invest invests two million in Garden Girl, who sells self-designed garden clothing and equipment specially designed for women.

In the issue of a total of six million is also participating private investors from Sweden and Germany. The money will be used to focus on marketing in Europe and the United States.

Garden Girl designs, manufactures and sells functional gardening clothes, utensils and shoes that are specially designed for women. This company is relatively alone. For despite the fact that 70 percent of all garden work is done by women, 95 percent of all products designed for and by men.

- Garden Girls unique products fills a big hole in the market, says Pär Carlshamre, Investment Manager at Almi Invest. We believe the company has great potential for growth in pace with the ever increasing interest in gardening.
Garden Girl was founded in 1997 by Petra Maison, CEO and designer of all products.

The company, which has been growing profitably since inception, generated sales of SEK 10.5 million 2015.

The products are sold both through its own web shop and through other retailers, both physically and online. Garden Girl has distributors in most of Europe and even in the US, but has lacked capital to invest heavily in marketing there.

- With this investment we will be able to scale up our marketing in its primary markets Sweden, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the United States, says Garden Girls CEO Petra Maison. We see great opportunities for growth, as we know that a large part of our target group of women over 35 are attracted by our stylish, functional and durable gardening clothes and appliances.
