THQ pays $35M for game studio Coffee Stain Studios.

THQ Nordic, a Stockholm, Sweden-based gaming company, announced that it entered into agreement to acquire Coffee Stain Holding AB, a smaller game developer and publisher based in Skövde, Sweden.

The transaction includes 100% of subsidiary Coffee Stain Publishing AB, intellectual property rights to Satisfactory, Goat Simulator, Sanctum and publishing rights to Deep Rock Galactic and was made for an equivalent to SEK 317 million ($35M) on a cash and debt free basis, plus additional earn-out considerations subject to fulfilment of agreed milestones.

Coffee Stain, founded in 2010 and led by Anton Westbergh, is a game developer and publisher managing two business areas - the game development and publishing business and an investment portfolio in other small gaming studios, such as Lavapotion AB (60% - invested in 2017), Ghost Ship Games (35% - invested in 2017) and Other Tales Interactive (20% - invested in 2018).

Coffee Stain has aggregated net sales of more than SEK 500M ($55M) and sold more than 16 million game units since its inception in 2010.
