TicketSwap raised €8.2 million from Million Monkeys.
TicketSwap, an Amsterdam, Netherlands-based operator of a music tickets marketplace, announced that it completed a €8.2 million ($10M) capital funding raise.
The money was raised from the Dutch investor Million Monkeys and will be used for growth, to add new features and expand to new markets.
TicketSwap, founded in 2012 by Frank Roor, Hans Ober (CEO) and Ruud Kamphuis, built an ecommerce business used for reselling event tickets via a platform where users can sell their tickets for concerts, festivals, sports events and theatres.
The company says that it works with over 300 partners worldwide and that its edge is making sure the sales process is fairer, safer and more transparent for parties involved. A cap on the sales price and verification of the sellers protect buyers from exorbitant prices and fake tickets. This way, the startup ensures every ticket finds a buyer that can attend the event and that fans have more chances to join their favourite event.
Prior to this round, TicketSwap was bootstrapped.
