Too Good To Go purchased the Spanish weSAVEeat.
Too Good To Go, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based company managing a food waste platform, announced that it acquired the Spanish weSAVEeat, based in Barcelona.
The financial details were not disclosed, but, as soon as the deal was closed, weSAVEeat was no longer available and its users are directed through the Too Good To Go app.
weSAVEeat, founded din 2016 by Eva Jorge Santos, was operating in Barcelona and Madrid, working with more than 150 establishments, including large chains and catering brands such as Foodbox, Good Migas, Areas, Ametller Origen, among others.
Too Good To Go, founded in 2015 by CEO Mette Lykke, is one of the Nordic companies that aims to commercialize unsold, surplus food via a digital platform. The company raised almost $12M from external investors, mostly Danish angels including Birgit Aaby and Preben Damgaard, with the most recent round closed in 2019.
