Tripod Capital Collective is an initiative that belongs to the entrepreneur Henrik Lie-Nielsen and financier Harald Mowinckel Troye, who put together with a number of prominent entrepreneurs and business people from Bergen region a NOK 500M fund ($60M).

Their objective is to raise as much as NOK 2.5bn for supporting a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in Western Norway, looking to invest NOK 3-15M and providing access to a network and to 600 square meters of office space located in the city of Bergen.

Tripod Capital Collective sounds promising and is timely, as, at the end of October 2016, a number of well known founders and angel investors from Norway signed a petition asking the government for mandatory programming in school and for creating entrepreneur-friendly premises.

Moreover, it also comes at the same time with the Norwegian government decision to close the funds for new big investments made by Investinor, allocating instead money for seed and early stage investments. Investinor has placed funds in 14 companies in the last 24 months, representing about half of the VC investments in the country.
