Twaice raised $30 million from Coatue and Lip-Bu Tan

Twaice, a Munich, Germany-based battery company developing analytics software, raised a new capital funding round closed at $30 million.

The money was raised from investors led by Coatue, joined by Lip-Bu Tan.

Twaice, founded in 2018 by Michael Baumann and Stephan Rohr, develops predictive analytics software that optimizes the development and operation of lithium-ion batteries. Its core technology is the digital twin - software that combines deep battery knowledge and artificialintelligence to determine the condition and predict the aging and performance of batteries. Customers include OEMs as well as renewables developers and operators, including Audi, Daimler, Hero Motors and Verbund.

Twaice previously raised $26 million series B from Energize Ventures, Creandum, Cherry Ventures, UVC Partners, and Speedinvest in 2021 and prior to that $12.2 million in 2020.
