Wheel me to raise $8.7 million from a range of family offices from Norway.

Wheel me, an Oslo, Norway-based robotics startup producing a a smart-wheel technology, completed a NOK 75M ($8.7M) capital funding round.

The money was raised from a numer of familly offices from Norway, including the shipping families of Thomas Wilhelmsen and Leif Høegh, as well as Anne Merete «Menne» Steensland and her family. The deal values the company at NOK 325M ($37.6M).

Most of the proceeds will be allocated to building an assembly factory line outside Oslo.

Wheel me, founded in 2013 and led by CEO Atle Timenes, manufactures a smart-wheel technology that allows users to move heavy objects indoors using a smartphone app or voice commands. The company works with global companies such as P&G, Faurecia, Porsche, Webasto and Skanska.

Wheel.me previously raised NOK 16 million in the summer of 2020.
