Yousician raised $28 million in Series B funding led by True Ventures.
Yousician, a Helsinki, Finland-based operating a platform for music instruction and lessons, announced the completion of a $28 million in Series B funding round.
The money was raised from investors led by True Ventures, joined by Amazon’s Alexa Fund and MPL Ventures, as well as Zynga founder Mark Pincus, LAUNCH Fund founder Jason Calacanis, Unity Technologies founder David Helgason, Trivago co-founder Rolf Schrömgens, Cooler Future founder Moaffak Ahmed and Blue Bottle Coffee Company executive chairman Bryan Meehan.
Yousician, founded in 2010 by Chris Thür and Mikko Kaipainen, built a subscription-based music learning marketplace designed to help users to learn a musical instrument. The company says it reaches 20 million monthly users across its two apps - the music education app Yousician and the guitar tuning app GuitarTuna - which paid subscriptions worth of $50 million in 2020.
Yousician previously raised $7 million.
