YSUB secures €250k from angel investors Juha-Petteri Kukkonen and Stefan Lindberg.
YSUB, a Helsinki, Finland-based startup producing a beverage containing cannabidiol, or CBD, announced in a press release securing capital funding of €250k ($296k).
The money was raised from local angel investors including Juha-Petteri Kukkonen and Stefan Lindberg.
YSUB, founded in 2020 by CEO Ulrika Kotimäk, produces a beverage that is positionined as having the calming effects of a zen drink. The product is expected to be taken to market by the end of 2020.
According to a local media outlet, Talouselama, in Finland CBD products are not allowed for sales as food or food supplements without a novel food permit. According to Fimea, the Finnish Center for Pharmaceutical Safety and Development, products containing CBD are equivalent to prescription drugs, but each product is evaluated separately.
