Who were the most active angel investors in the Nordics in 2017?

We have compiled our data and looked at the most active 15 angel investors from the Nordics in 2017.

A few observations:
- top 15 includes 13 angel investors from Sweden, one Norwegian and one Danish
- the Danish and the Norwegian are David Helgason and Trond Riiber Knudsen, each present in 4 rounds, with averaging tickets of 5.08M and 2.9M respectively.
- we tracked an angel investor who is an outsider from the Nordics - Jörg Mohaupt, with 3 investments in the region for 2017 (2 times in Amuse and one in Soundtrack Your Brand). He is Dutch and a very seasoned business executive from Europe.
- the top 15 is followed by a group of angel investors from Sweden with at least three investments and a group of angel investors from Denmark (10), Finland (8) and Norway (3) with at least two investments.
- also with 3 investments and outside the Swedish circle is Gustav Magnar Witzøe (Norway), with an average round of 405k.
- from Iceland we only tracked investments from two angel investors - Vilhjalmur (Villi) Thorsteinsson and Thor Fridriksson, both part of Inspirally's round from November 2017.
- usually angel investors fund companies together with other Nordic investors, usually angels but also organisations. We have included who invests with who on the list below.
- there are angel investors from the list who invest in their name and through other companies. This may affect the below list
- the data is as is at and was compiled from almost 1000 investment transactions we tracked from public sources about Scandinavian companies in the year of 2017.
- we update constantly our database so things can change - nonetheless we believe the list provides for a good big picture of who's who on the Nordic angel scene.
