Industrial VR/AR -- Project Varpu Research Seminar

Welcome to join an information rich seminar showcasing groundbreaking applications of VR/AR to industrial problems. These novel results emerged from the 2017-2018 project VARPU (Varpu.info) funded by Business Finland and the participants.

The project involved 12 companies (such as Nokia, Fortum, Granlund, Ruukki, Rejlers) and 5 research units (University of Tampere, Aalto University, VTT, FGI and University of Lapland). We applied bleeding edge technologies such as measure-accurate photogrammetry, wide area AR, haptics and gaze tracking into pressing problems that are found among industry. We published novel research papers, proposed novel designs, crafted cool demos and tried things out in the field. This seminar will uncover it all.

The seminar will feature inspiring keynote talks by prominent influencers in the field, results presentations by VARPU participants, and numerous cool demos.
