3Shape to add EQT Partners as investors in the company

3Shape, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based manufacturer of intra-oral scanners, CAD and CAM software for dental clinics and the dental lab market, announced that it entered into an investment agreement with the Swedish private equity company EQT Partners.

The deal was made for 20% of the company's equity and has other financial details undisclosed. The founders will remain majority shareholders in the company.

3Shape, founded in 2000 by Tais Clausen and Nikolaj Deichmann and led by CEO Jakob Just-Bomholt, is a digital dentistry providing intra-oral scanning solutions, CAD (Computer Aided Design) and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) software for dentists and dental laboratories in over 100 countries. The company employs more than 1,900 people in Europe, Americas and Asia, of which approximately 500 sit in R&D.
