ABLE Human Motion announced securing € 750k from Banco Sabadell via Bstartup Health
ABLE Human Motion, a Barcelona, Spain-based medical company developing robotic exoskeletons, announced raising EUR 750k ($826k) in capital investment.
The money was raised from investors from Spain, including the venture capital entity BStartup Health, which is Banco Sabadell program dedicated to health startups.
The company will use the funds to move from the functional prototype of the current exoskeleton to a robust and scalable product, which requires R&D personnel, materials and services and the entry into national phases of the patent, along with the clinical validation of the device at the Institut Guttmann for subsequent certification as a medical device.
ABLE Human Motion, founded in 2018 as a spin-off from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), is developing and will commercialize robotic exoskeletons to enhance mobility and independence of people with lower-limb paralysis. The robots are for domestic use, and restore the ability to walk naturally and intuitively, as well as helping to alleviate health problems caused by spinal cord injury.
