Ankerkraut adds EMZ Partners as investors in the company

Ankerkraut GmbH, a Jesteburg, south of Hamburg, Germany-based spices manufacturer, announced that it added the French private equity company EMZ Partners as investors in the company.

Financial details were not disclosed. Founding family remains majority shareholder, EMZ Partners invests in subordinated debt and becomes minority shareholder. In addition to EMZ, the Management team of Ankerkraut also becomes a shareholder. The founding family Lemcke remains majority owner of the business and the incumbent minority shareholders Freigeist Capital (Frank Thelen) and Knälmann Ventures (Matthias Knälmann) stay on board. 

Ankerkraut, founded in 2013 and led by CEO Stefan Lemcke, has become the “Love Brand“ and #1 Challenger in the German spice market. The company operates offices and production facilities in Hamburg as it develops, produces and sells premium spice mixes, mono-spices, teas, advent calendars, gift sets and plans to expand into sauces in the near future.
