Auctionet, founded in 2011, is a Stockholm-based marketplace where auction houses from all over Europe sell furniture, art, design items, collectibles and more.

The company recorded sales of SEK 23M in 2015, after having raised SEK 25M in April 2015, and now, 18 months later, adds SEK 7M more for further expansion.

Auctionet's main competitor locally is Barnebys, which had almost SEK 11M in sales in 2015, while having raised SEK 37M in December 2015.

It should be noted that, while recording half the sales of Auctionet in 2015, Barnebys actually had access to almost double external funding, in a relatively similar timespan (it was founded in 2012)

The big diiference between Auctionet and Barnebys, though, is that while the latter only provides an online platform for bidding, Auctionet also goes the extra mile, as all items are carefully selected, inspected, described and photographed by experts beforehand.
