Baffin Bay Networks acquires US data security business Loryka, expands in North America.
Baffin Bay Networks, a Stockholm, SWeden-based cloud-based cybersecurity startup, announced the acquisition of US data security business Loryka, which focuses on botnet and IoT research.
FInancial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Loryka will become the first Baffin Bay affiliate in the United States. The Threat Research centre will be based in Portland, Oregon with additional operations in Virginia, Maryland and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Zac Lindsey, founder of Tulsa law firm LINDSEYfirm, will head up the company’s US operation, effective immediately.
Loryka, led by CEO Justin Shattuck, started out as a simple research project in 2013, but has since grown into a platform and data pipeline that allows researchers to gain insights into data breaches and security attacks.
Baffin Bay Networks, founded in 2017 by CEO Joakim Sundberg, offers an easy to use and accurate cloud-first threat protection platform that helps companies and service providers protect their key assets and services. The company is supported by venture capital, having raised $7.2M since its founding.
