Bambora buys Innocard, a Swiss payment company
Bambora, a Stockholm, Sweden-based financial company, announced the acquisition of the Swiss company paid Innocard. The financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed.
The transaction fuels Bambora's ambition to expand in Europe and as its multi-channel platform, combined with Innocards local capacity, means that Bambora now can integrate a whole solution for card payments in another important market.
Innocard was founded in 2008 and was wholly owned by the company's CEO Simon Meile and CTO Roman Keller. The company provides payment solutions primarily for small and medium-sized retailers, of which the largest group of customers in the hospitality and gastronomy. Innocard has 36 employees and a market of over 4500 shops, restaurants and service providers in Switzerland.
Bambora, owned by Nordic Capital, was founded in 2015 by merging the leading payments companies Euroline, KeyCorp, Samport, MPS, DK Online and ePay, all acquired by Nordic Capital Fund VIII between May 2014 and April 2015 with the ambition to form a leading player within the payment service sector.
