Basement, a Rotterdam, Netherlands-based startup developing next-gen infrastructure for building on Web3, announced completing a $750k pre-seed funding round.

The money was raised from investors including Connect Ventures, Capital T, NP-Hard Ventures, and angel investors Nalden (WeTransfer, Adelee), Robert Gaal (Karma, Google, Quest), Kevin Kalle (Awkward, Adelee), Mills (UsTwo), and James Haycock (Adaptive Lab).

Basement, founded in 2022 by Nick Vernij and Stijn Hanegraaf, started as a project used for keeping track of NFTs that later was pivoted into a low-code framework (custom indexer) enabling users build on top of it. The company says it made a first prototype of free Ethereum API available for free to developers, enabling them to query metadata from NFTs and their owners.

Total investments received (USD): 750k
