Bastard Burgers was acquired by Equip Capital

Bastard Burgers, a Luleå, Sweden-based restaurant chain, announced that it entered into an investment agreement with the Norwegian investment company Equip Capital.

The deal, which has the financial details undisclosed, was made for an equity stake of 60%. The rest of the shares will be controlled by the founders of the company.

Bastard Burgers, founded in 2016 by CEO Simon Wanler, built a burger chain with 28 restuarants throughout Sweden. In 2018, the operating had sales of roughly SEK 200M ($21M).
