Better Dairy raised $22 million in Series A funding co-led by RedAlpine and Vorwerk.
Better Dairy, a London, UK-based startup working a novel manufacturing way for producing diary products, raised $22 million series A funding round.
The money was raised from investors co-led by RedAlpine and Vorwerk, and joined by Manta Ray, Acequia Capital and Happiness Capital and Stray Dog Capital.
The proceeds will be used for expanding its workforce from eight people to 35 and into a new 6,000-square-foot laboratory and office space in East London.
Better Dairy, incubated in 2020 at Entrepreneur First by CEO Jevan Nagarajah and Christopher Reynolds, uses synthetic biology and yeast fermentation to produce dairy products following a similar process to brewing beer. The company's products are molecularly identical to traditional dairy following similar existing recipes and supply chains.
Better Dairy previously raised £1.6 million in seed funding backed by Happiness Capital, CPT Capital, Stray Dog Capital and Veg Capital at the end of 2020.
