Bob W in a €6M series A extension round backed by byFounders and Tesi.
Bob W., a Helsinki, Finland-based company building an alternative hospitality business to hotels and short-stay rentals, announced a €6M ($7M) series A extension round.
The money was raised from existing investors, and complement an initial funding round of €4 million announced in 2020 and led by Danish VC byFounders. Contributors to the round include Finnish Industry Investment (Tesi), Kaamos, Superangel, United Angels, and NREP via 2150.
The proceeds will be used to expand to multiple new markets across Europe, including the UK, to further develop an autonomous hospitality platform, and grow the team.
Bob W, founded in 2018 by CEO Niko Karstikko and Sebastian Emberger, built an operation providing short term rentals for tourists, postioning as an alternative housing solution to hotels and hosted homes.
The company says that it secured its first apartments in London, expected to make them available in winter 2021-2022, and is working for opening multiple properties in Nordic markets, including its newest property in central Helsinki this spring, which was secured together with Sponda, the Finnish arm of The Blackstone Group.
