Bonnet, a London, UK-based startup operating a subscription business for selling access to EV charging points, announced raising a seed round closed at $5.5 million.

The money was raised from investors including Lightspeed, GV and 20VC, joined by angel investors including the founder of Deliveroo Will Shu, ex-Tesla president Jon McNeill, co-founder of TIER Lawrence Leuschner and founders of Zapp Joe Falter and Navid Hadzaad.

Bonnet, founded in 2019 by CEO Patrick Reich and Eliot Makabu, developed an EV charging platform simplifying payments, providing drivers real-time data on charger availability and functionality – drawn from multiple sources – and offers drivers lower-cost charging that they can use anyway across the network, rolling over what they don’t use into the next month. The company says it installed nearly 50,000 charge points in over 20,000 charging locations across the UK and Europe, and made deals with networks such as Shell Recharge, ESB and Char.gy, available through the app.

Bonnet previously raised £850K in an equity financing round led by Ascension Ventures in 2021.

Total investments received (USD): 10.32M
