Cego sells 40% of its equity to Via Equity.

Cego, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based company operating online casinos, announced getting into an investment agreement with private equity company Via Equity.

Following the transaction, Via Equity will control 40% of the shareholding package in Cego.

The deal, which has financial specifics undisclosed, was made by Via Equity's fund, Via Equity III, with the three founders and the actual owner Danske Spil, the state-owned company operating the national lottery. In 2014, Danske Spil purchased 60 percent of Spilnu.dk.

Cego was founded in 2011 by Mads Peter Veiby and the brothers Jacob and Anders Christensen, built and operates online gaming assets such as Spilnu.dk and Komogvind.dk. In 2018, Spilnu.dk had a profit after tax of DKK 77.4 million, while the company over the past five years had a profit of DKK 320 million after tax.
