Coffee Stain buys Gone North Games, renames it Coffee Stain North.
Coffee Stain Group, a Skövde, Sweden-based gaming company announced entering into an agreement to acquire a majority share in Gone North Games AB, the developer of Goat Z and Goat Simulator: Waste of Space.
The deal, which has the financial details undisclosed, involves that Gone North Games will be rebranded as Coffee Stain North, expanding Coffee Stains reach well beyond its origin of Skövde.
The acquisition builds upon an already successful partnership with the Stockholm based outfit that has been brewing for the last four years.
Gone North Games, founded in 2013 and led by CEO Sebastian Eriksson. The company was profitable, and made about SEK 9.2M ($1.1M) in sales in 2016.
The announcement comes shortly after Coffee Stain Studio announced the funding of Other Tales Interactive, a two female gaming startup, as part of an initiative focused on promoting gender equality within game development studios.
