Coherence completes a $2.5 million seed round led by Firstminute Capital.
Coherence, a Malmö, Sweden-based startup working on the development of a framework for game developers, announced that it secured $2.5M in a seed investment round.
The money was provided by Firstminute Capital and included Sisu Game Ventures and Paul Heydon. Funding will be used to hire additional people in Malmö, and for business development in other cities with large developer communities.
Coherence, founded in 2018 by CEO Dino Patti and David Helgason, is aiming to democratise online games by allowing teams of all sizes to create massively scalable and persistent virtual worlds. Coherence will be integrated with existing popular game engines, the first of which will be Unity.
Coherence's platform is currently under development — a closed beta is scheduled by the end of 2019, with a full launch planned for 2020.
