Container xChange, a Hamburg, Germany-based operator of a container logistics marketplace platform, secured a fresh capital funding in a series A round.

The money was raised from investors including Point Nine Capital, Piton Capital and Omers Ventures.

Container xChange, founded in 2015 by Johannes Schlingmeier and Christian Roeloffs, developed an online container-logistics marketplace designed to connect users and suppliers of container equipment in a neutral and open platform. The platform is a connection hub for a whole range of stakeholders, including carriers, container leasing companies, freight forwarders, non-vessel operating common carriers, container traders and leasing companies for the purpose of exchanging SOC shipping containers.

Container xChange says it currently handles business for around 800 customers - including Kuehne+Nagel, Seaco and Transinsular.
