CUREosity, a Dusseldorf, Germany-based SAAS developer of therapy tools using virtual reality, announced that it completed a €3.5M ($4M) in a capital funding round.

The money was raised from investors led by TechVision Fonds, joined by local angel investors from Germany.

Proceeds will be used as the company plans in particular to develop new modules for even better therapy in other areas of application and indications. In addition, resources flow into the rapid scaling and internationalization of products, sales and business models.

CUREosity, founded in 2018 by Stefan Arand, Marco Faulhammer and CEO Thomas Saur, develops software tools that enables more efficient and new forms of therapy in various rehabilitation phases - from acute treatment and early rehabilitation to long-term therapy at home. The solution is using VR and playful content (gamification), helping patients with neurological or musculoskeletal impairments in orider to restore and improve their cognitive and motor skills - for example after a stroke or Parkinson's disease. The Cureo system consists of VR glasses, hand controllers and a tablet PC on which the therapist can follow the patient's movements. Recorded data helps the therapist review the patient's progress and adjust therapy accordingly.
