Lunar Way, a Danish, Aarhus-based banking app raised €4.2M in funding.

The round was led by SEED Capital, together with a number of angel investors. The announcement comes after the local insurer Nykredit joined as a minority investor in August 2016.

Lunar Way is a fintech-company focusing on rethinking the banking experience for the millennial generation. The company acts as a mobile bank but rather than securing a banking license of its own, it is partnering with local banks in the countries it operates in, a strategy it believes has enabled it to get to market and innovate faster.

Lunar Way’s official target is to reach 85.000 Nordic users in 2016, and then to expand outside of the Nordics in 2017. They are currently running in an FCA approved beta phase in Denmark.

Total investments received (USD): 541.79M
