Diet Doctor to raise SEK 38 million from investors led by Centripetal Capital.
Diet Doctor, a Stockholm, Sweden-based startup building a consumer media business with diet advice, announced that it added a SEK 38 million ($4M) capital funding round.
The money was raised locally from Sweden, from investors led by Centripetal Capital. Rackspace's ex-CEO Graham Weston is also said to be joining the round.
Diet Doctor was founded in 2007 as a blog called Kostdoktorn by CEO Andreas Eenfeldt and was pivoted in 2014 into a mobile app providing subscription-based media content realted to keto and low-carb diets, helping people with diabetes, weight loss, and other health conditions, and providing evidence-based information created by doctors, dietitians, and other health experts. The company says it has around 75k paying customers, mostly from the USA, producing sales of SEK 72 million ($7.4M) in 2021.
