Dirac announced a $13.2M capital round of financing led by current investors.
Dirac Research, an Uppsala, Sweden-based company providing digitally optimized sound solutions, announced in a press release that it secured SEK 119M ($13.2M) in capital investment.
The investment round was led by existing investors and proceeds will be used to manage the expanding scope of product development initiatives, as well as growing the company's business.
At the same time, Dirac announced that it has appointed former Harman International Senior Vice President of Research & Development Armin Prommersberger as Chief Technology Officer and opened a Copenhagen Research & Development Center.
Dirac Research, founded in 2001 by a group of researchers from Uppsala University and led by CEO Mathias Johansson, develops optimized sound solutions for mobile, automotive, residential and commercial environments. The company works with customers such as electronics manufacturers or car producers, including BMW, Volvo, Rolls Royce and Bentley.
Prior to this deal, Dirac raised about $13.5M in outside funding, from investors including CNI, Inbox Capital, John Wattin, Jörgen Lantto, Rami Yacoub and Staffan Persson.
